Did You know… Our
youth are looking for answers, Visions of Hope is
specifically designed to reach young people and Visions of Hope, a youth program, is comprised of ex-convicts working in conjunction with the parole department. These people have made radical life changes and are dedicated to reaching today’s youth with a powerful, positive message that has life-changing results. These men and women have turned from lives of drugs, crimes and prison and are now successful members of our community. They volunteer in the Visions of Hope Program because they want to help guide the young people away from destructive lifestyles. Visions of Hope is a non-profit corporation offering a one of a kind presentation in a fun, party environment with a multi media production including music, hip-hop dance routines, visual effects and powerful speakers. We held a large event at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center that had encouraging results. Executive Director, Dean Crenshaw brings over two decades of experience working for the California Department of Corrections, 16 years in the prison systems and 5 years in the Parole Department. For the past four years, Visions of Hope has been speaking to Antelope Valley youth groups such as: Teen Reach, VIDA, Challenger Memorial Youth Center, Tarzana Treatment Center and the UCAN programs. So many young people today are lost and hurting; they are searching for something real they can grab onto. Visions of Hope has proven to be one very real solution. They have reached over 12,000 youth with a much needed message presented in a positive way. Many times members are approached in public places by youth who have attended these meetings or events. “Hey, I remember you!” they say, “You spoke at…” They go on to say, “I am doing really good now. I graduated, I’m working…” and so on. These ex-convicts speak from their past experiences and the kids really listen. This is what makes the program so effective in reaching and impacting their lives. Assemblyman George Runner, Lancaster Vice Mayor Henry Hearns and Palmdale Planning Commissioner Dean Henderson endorse Visions of Hope. Our goal is to present this message to all the youth in this Valley and see it have a positive impact on their lives. In order to keep up with the growth and demand for our presentations we are seeking to form partnerships within the community, requesting funding and resource assistance. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to present Visions of Hope to your association in an effort to obtain your support. For further information regarding upcoming event productions and how you can become involved in Visions of Hope, please contact us at (661)274-4155 ext. 212 or write us at PO Box 952, Lancaster CA 93584. Sincerely, Dean Crenshaw
